You Have Limited Privacy At Work

You Have Limited Privacy At Work. Many employers monitor their employees’ usage of computers. This is generally lawful. So don’t do your holiday shopping during work hours on the employer’s computer. Don’t check your personal emails, either. They may download into the work computer, even if it’s temporary, and a good forensic IT person may be able to recover them. Whatever you do, don’t do your next job search from your office computer; that includes keeping a copy of your resume in your office computer files. Don’t use your company’s phone, cell phone, PDA or fax for personal business. Those actions are traceable and may violate company policy.
