Get a Copy of Your Employer’s Handbook and Take It Home or Download and Print It From the Company’s Intranet

Ninth post in the series, New York Employees: What Your Employer Knows and You Should Learn Now

Get a Copy of Your Employer’s Handbook and Take It Home or Download and Print It From The Company’s Intranet. Then read it.  This Handbook contains important information for you, including, for example, your employer’s policies on moonlighting (conflicts of interest), document retention, employee privacy, maternity/paternity leave and much more.  It will also tell you what to do if you have a complaint.  If you ignore the Handbook’s requirements, you may find that you have done harm to your legal claims.  But be sure to read the next post before you go.
